Ages and Opening Hours:
Overall Licence: 62 children aged 0 to 6 years, with up to 16 aged under 2
Beginners Nest Classroom: 12 months to 2.5 years
Preschool Classroom: 2.5 to 6 years
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Morning Sessions: 9:00am till 12:30pm
Afternoon Sessions: 12:30pm till 3:30pm
School Day: 9:00am till 3:30pm
Full Day: 8:00am till 4:30pm
Little Sacred Hearts Atrium:
The Historic Village preschool is also home to our “Little Sacred Hearts Atrium”, which provides a wonderfully quiet retreat for children to visit. Find out more here
Enrolments:
To receive the full benefit of a Montessori education, it is important that your child attends at least three full days per week in the Preschool.
We offer “20 Hours ECE Subsidy” for 3-5 year olds and ask for an Optional Charge to cover our programme which provides over and above the Ministry of Education Regulations. Some parents may also be eligible for a WINZ childcare subsidy.
Enrolling your child at Little Sweethearts entitles your family to free membership of the Montessori Association of New Zealand (MANZ). You will receive their very informative quarterly publication with our endorsement and compliments.

Rhonda Davison: Principal Directress
Rhonda Davison qualified with her Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy in London, and has spent the last eighteen years setting up and running a number of Montessori Preschools, as well as playing a key role in setting up the Montessori Primary Classrooms at Bellevue Primary School and saw a need in Tauran
ga to train and support teachers in the Montessori Method.
Rhonda, a mother of four, founded Tauranga’s Little Sweethearts Montessori in 2007 which is now under the ownership of Symon Armstrong. In her role as the Principal Directress, Rhonda manages the Preschool and supports the continued development of the Montessori Trained Directresses (Teachers) who lead each classroom, ensuring the consistent quality of the Montessori programme delivery across the classrooms.

Noeleen Kenny: Montessori Directress
Noeleen holds a Diploma of Montessori, a Diploma in ECE, and is a Provisionally Registered Teacher. Noeleen is scheduled to teach Monday to Friday.

Andrea Morrison: Montessori Directress
Andrea holds a Diploma of Teaching and Learning (ECE), is a Fully Registered Teacher, and holds a Foundation Certificate in Montessori. Andrea is scheduled to teach Tuesday to Friday. |

Jessica Niederer: Montessori Directress
Jess holds a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) through the University of Waikato, and is a Provisionally Registered teacher. She spent two years as a nanny in London and exploring the world! She loves the beach lifestyle of the Mount. |
Ginny Currin: Montessori Directress
Ginny had a graduate Diploma in ECE, and is a fully Registered Teacher. Ginny is scheduled to work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. |
